Clean Candles, Clean Earth

You may already know that our gourmet candles are clean burning and don't leave that black soot on your walls.

Another way to help the save the planet is to take reusable shopping bags with you to the store. I was invited to the Carbon Conscious Consumer site today and found some great links to sites selling reusable items that don't clog landfills. You can also enter a contest to win bikes, a trip to Glacier National Park and other fun things. It's a cool site.

Carbon Conscious Consumer

While you are entering contests, don't forget to visit our web site and enter to win a free (and clean) gourmet candle and soy soap bar.

Blogger course

I'm evaluating a multi-media course on blogging from the folks at Simpleology. For a while, they're letting you snag it for free if you post about it on your blog.

It covers:

  • The best blogging techniques.
  • How to get traffic to your blog.
  • How to turn your blog into money.

I'll let you know what I think once I've had a chance to check it out. Meanwhile, go grab yours while it's still free.

Craft show this weekend

We'll be joining forces with Jami's Candles Plus of Lake Odessa (jamiscandlesplus.com) on November 3, 2007 for a craft show in Saranac, MI. It's an all day event being held in conjunction with the Fireman's Annual Pancake Supper. We will have a candle booth in the the old high school gymnasium at 150 Pleasant Drive. You can get to Saranac from the Grand Rapids area by taking M21 east and turning right on Hawley Highway.

We will be there from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m., so stop by and experience the delicious aroma of our candles first hand. We'll have our new skin balm there for you to try. It was developed by a pharmacist and is great for soothing cracked or dry skin. If you can't make it to the craft show, you can order online.

Stop by and polish off some Christmas shopping. We'll have items in many price ranges.

Candle of the Month

Our October Candle of the Month scent is Eucalyptus. To be honest, this scent didn't excite me until I popped the top off the jar. What a clean, refreshing scent! It's invigorating, but it's also calming (yes that does make sense!). Start the Fall with fresh and order your own jar, votives or melts.

Working on new site

I just learned something - I can't edit posts on this site, so am adding another to let you know that I'm working on a new version of our personal candle site, CleanScentedSoyCandles.com. I have also secured the domain name AdaGourmetCandles.com which for now flips over to the original candle site.

Watch for a new, brighter version of the site with even more information on the company. I'm working on it in between designing ads and sites for my Arabiansites.com clients, but hope to have it online soon.

June Candle of the Month

This is the 2nd time I've moved my blog in a month. I've decided to put it on my candle site, but that's going to involve moving it to another server and I have so many visitors lately that it isn't a good time to take it down for 2-3 days. So here I am on blogger.com. Till I figure out how or if I can import the old posts, this one will have to do.

I have blogged about my adventures in selling Arabian horses on my website arabiansites.com and about how I put some fun back into my work life selling candles. I blog mainly to keep my candle customers aware of our newest offerings.

The June Candle of the month is Blueberry Cobbler! It smells like the real thing. My daughter's boyfriend used to be a pastry chef, and as the aroma of fresh-baked blueberry cobbler filled the house, he got hungry. He didn't make cobbler, but we all enjoyed the blueberry coffee cake he made for us. The candles are that realistic! Whenever we are hungry for something and boyfriend is around, we light up a candle in the flavor we're craving!

I'm anxiously awaiting next month's COTM (candle of the month). It will be one of our premium pillar candle scents - Cactus & White Peach - available in jars and votives. It's my favorite of all the scents, and I have a long list of faves.

The company just announced that two new melt scents were just released today - Blueberry Cobbler and Lemon Verbena. These are the little melts that go in our simmer pots. A lot of other new scents have been released recently. You can check out other ones that are now available here:

Gotta run and link this new blog site into the web site. Watch this space for new announcements!
